Trip Planner guide
This free preview combines your recorded flight, stay, event, activity and transport options in a private itinerary. It checks entered times and budgets and exports backups, CSV and calendar events. Live inventory, booking, product accounts and payments are not connected.
Set up the trip
Enter the first and last days, itinerary time zone, adults and child ages. Trips can span up to 90 days with up to 16 travelers. Optional budgets stay separate by currency; no exchange rate is assumed. Choose “Update trip details” to apply changes. Existing option times and quoted guest counts are retained so mismatches remain visible.
Bring flight and stay options together
Download a JSON backup from Flight Finder or Stay Finder. Choose “Import flight / stay quotes”, review the accepted and excluded counts, then add the options as ideas. Existing source identifiers are skipped on reimport so your edits are preserved. Sources with invalid structure fail validation; an individually ambiguous flight time is excluded with an explanation.
Flight directions arrive as linked blocks with the entire quoted fare counted once. Default buffers are two hours before and one hour after each journey; adjust them for the specific airports, baggage, immigration and transfers. Stay dates include check-in through the night before checkout. They do not occupy every hour of the itinerary. Check-in/out clock times are not inferred, and the trip zone is only a reference for date-only stays. Original source snapshots remain in trip backups.
Add activities and events
Create an option with a type, guest count and one or more time blocks. For timed blocks, enter local start/end times with an IANA time zone for each end. A repeated daylight-saving time requires choosing its earlier or later occurrence; a nonexistent clock time is rejected. An idea may have an unknown end time, but every end must be confirmed before adding it to the itinerary. Overnight or international journeys keep real UTC order.
Review compatibility
Choose “Add to itinerary” after reviewing an idea. The checker flags overlaps, insufficient entered buffers, dates outside the trip, guest mismatches and overlapping lodging dates. “Only ideas that fit” also checks known expenses against your currency budgets. These are checks against entered data: real transfer time, travel eligibility, safety, availability and price are not verified. Unreviewed charges can still make a seemingly fitting option exceed the budget.
Time buffers are minutes needed before and after a block. They are checked in addition to the event interval, but are not separate calendar events. An overnight stay is a date-only reminder. Two overlapping stays are flagged for review; you may intentionally need both. Marking an option “Booked” records your own confirmation and does not make or verify a reservation.
Find free time
Choose a trip day, start/end clock times, an activity length and its own buffers. The planner finds openings around planned or booked timed blocks and their before/after buffers. Ideas and date-only stays do not occupy the day. An end at or before the start means the next day, within the trip. Repeated daylight-saving times require an occurrence choice; missing times are rejected. Durations use elapsed minutes, and results show local times plus UTC to distinguish repeated hours.
Each opening can create an editable activity starting at its earliest available time. Review its location, costs and times, save it as an idea, then add it to the itinerary. Editing trip details or the schedule invalidates the results. These are openings in entered data, not verified transport routes, venue hours or available tickets. The activity and both its own buffers fit inside the requested window.
Keep costs honest
Enter whole-party costs once per option, including when an option contains several flight directions. Only planned or booked options contribute to the trip budget. Unknown amounts remain visible, and refundable security deposits are shown separately from expenses. Imported known totals retain their original completeness state. Review taxes, fees, refundability and payment timing with the seller.
Save and take the plan with you
The open trip remains in memory until you save on this device or download a backup. One saved trip is available per browser profile; backups preserve up to 100 options and 300 time blocks. Trip JSON downloads and reopening support up to 32 MiB, including original quote snapshots and notes. Device saves retain a separate 4 MiB limit and may fail earlier if browser storage is full; use a downloaded trip backup for larger plans. Companion quote imports retain their 4 MiB limit. Saves and deletes use browser locks and version checks. A stale tab cannot replace a newer saved trip; download open work and explicitly reopen the saved copy first. Browsers without Web Locks can use downloads. “Download saved data” retrieves the original saved bytes, including malformed backups, without changing your open trip. Invalid or cancelled imports leave current work intact. Browser storage is shared with anyone using the profile and is not an encrypted cloud backup.
Calendar export includes planned/booked blocks, stable identifiers, UTC timed events and date-only stays with an exclusive checkout date. It downloads a file; it does not send invitations or sync a calendar account. Source links and trip details are included, so keep exports private. CSV summarizes the itinerary; JSON preserves all source details. Print uses the current itinerary, known costs and plan checks.
Preview boundaries
Flights, stays and events still require approved live data sources and availability rechecks before the complete planner release. Route-time estimates, real map/supplier integrations, shared cloud trips, direct email/password and Google accounts, recovery/deletion, paid subscriptions and one-time purchases, operations and device acceptance remain release work. The preview uses no GPT calls.
